Emirates is looking forward to the end of the Airbus A380 era, but the last six superjumbos will be sent off in style.
Emirates has a new “premium economy class” and updated business class seats and cabins, including the well-known onboard cocktail bar and two very nice first-class shower rooms.
“The Emirates A380 is already known as one of the most popular ways to travel in the sky,” says President Sir Tim Clark. “Now, we have taken it up a notch.”
Emirates continues to spend to ensure their customers have the best flight possible, which aligns with their promise to provide a great flying experience.
As stated, Emirates has added a premium economy option for its world-class products on the A380. This area in the lower deck’s nose has 56 “sleeperette” seats and two separate restrooms. With a pitch of up to 40 inches, a width of 18.5 inches in a 2-4-2 configuration, an 8-inch recline capability, and a roomy leg rest, these seats offer plenty of comfort for travelers on a budget. Therefore, obtaining some rest while traveling from point A to point B is definitely on the schedule.
The architecture of Emirates’ refurbished A380 business class is influenced by their most recent Boeing 777 aircraft. With champagne-colored leather coverings and opulent wood accents, the seat still offers direct aisle access, a fully flat bed, and a personal mini-bar, but it now has a cozier appearance. This update elevates the already first-rate business-class experience by adding a dash of refinement.
Emirates’ revamped A380 business class draws inspiration from the airline’s newest Boeing 777 jets, incorporating similar design elements.
The seat itself remains unchanged, offering direct aisle access, a fully flat bed, and a personal mini-bar. However, it receives a stylish makeover with softer champagne-colored leather covers and elegant wood finishing. This enhancement adds a touch of sophistication to the already exceptional business-class experience.
Emirates shares that they have applied a similar restyling approach to the cocktail bar and lounge at the upper deck’s rear. The area now features a fresh and spacious champagne color scheme, complemented by wood paneling and stylish bronze accents.
It’s worth mentioning that even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Emirates had plans for a more extensive revamp of this iconic feature in their A380 business class experience.
Emirates’ Chief, Clark, expressed that the third-generation lounge would significantly change, including an expanded seating area and clusters of AC and USB power points around the tables. This revamp aims to elevate the Emirates further experience for their valued passengers.
